This dialogue allows you to enter the pairings and results for a specific round of the tournament. If required you can enter the pairings and then enter the results after the round has been complete, or you can enter the pairings and results at the same time. The current round will be displayed by default. Other rounds can be viewed and updated by clicking on the round number in the Round drop down list. The First Board number will display the lowest board number for any round. If you want to change the board numbers you can either type them in as you enter the pairings, or you can enter the first board number and click on Renumber UpdatingThe grid allows you to enter the board, white player, result and black player for each pairing. As you enter the players number their name will be displayed automatically. The keys to for single key enter of the Results are displayed at the bottom of the list. These can be changed on the Options dialogue by clicking on the change hot link. It the Game Type for the Tournament is Other, the spread as well as the result can be entered. At the bottom of the dialogue are a set of buttons:
When you close the dialogue via the Close button the system recalculates all the scores for the players. Automatic pairingAutomatic pairing will create automatic 'Swiss' pairings for a 'Swiss' tournament and 'All Play All' pairings for an all-play-all tournament. If pairings or results have already been entered for this round, the system will prompt you before it regenerates the pairings. This program uses the same software as the DOS version of Tournament Director when generating Swiss pairings If the system can not find a legal pairing an error message will be displayed, otherwise the pairings will be displayed. On a Swiss tournament the automatic pairing will take into account pre allocated byes and any avoids that have been entered. It may not always be possible to honour all avoids, but where possible the system will. ValidateValidate button allows you to validate the pairings and results. The validations performed depends on the Process selected (in the top left corner). Pairings:
